Experience the Pulse of Mangawhai’s Art Scene!

Mangawhai Artists Association was set up in 2002 Joy Agar and Sue Blincko. At the time, local artists hosted an annual art trail in conjunction with the Mangawhai Walking Weekend in early autumn. Since then, more people joined and a committee of volunteers ran the organisation which was subsequently registered as an Incorporated Society.

We opened a gallery at 45 Moir Street, Mangawhai in 2015, and following an intensive community fundraising campaign, opened our workspace in 2021.

All year long, we proudly celebrate our artistic community with inspiring exhibitions and events that showcase Mangawhai as a thriving creative hub. With a membership of over 240 talented artists - many mastering multiple mediums - we’re a powerhouse of artistic expression, bringing the region’s incredible talent into the spotlight and solidifying Mangawhai’s place as a must-visit destination for art lovers.

Our gallery doors are open daily from 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM, with an early 9:00 AM start on Saturdays - perfect for kicking off your weekend with a dose of creativity!

Beyond the gallery, our dynamic workspace buzzes with workshops and events year-round, offering endless opportunities to get involved, learn, and create. Stay updated by visiting the gallery, checking this website regularly, or following us on Facebook & Instagram for the latest happenings.

Find us at 45 Moir Street, Mangawhai, right across from Bennett’s Chocolatier and Café.

Drop in, get inspired, and immerse yourself in the art!
