Joel Cayford

I have held 4 photography exhibitions at Mangawhai Gallery, and one long ago in Christchurch when I was a student there. My interest in photography was encouraged by my father whose approach to composition was always: “every picture should tell a story”. Now that I’m not employed to do paid work I seem to spend as much time doing volunteer work – but this still provides opportunity to explore the world through the lense. Lately my camera images form part of my artist palette, along with digital filters, and other tools, which I combine to make my pictures.
