Shirley Emerson

Shirley grew up in Northland, marrying young and travelling extensively. The sudden loss of her husband and a friend's suggestion that she pursue art, led her to classes and workshop after workshop. She was hooked!

Living at Mangawhai Heads, close to family, since 2008, Shirley enjoys walking, ukulele playing, great friendships and importantly, continues to create art.

She has displayed work at the following exhibitions: Mangawhai Art Gallery, the local Art Trail (at Stylish Homes venue), with the Monday Art Group at Fagen Place, at ex local store Casablanca, the Marsden Cove Marquee Exhibition, Snells Beach, Whangārei's ARTBEAT Festival and the Kaipara Art Awards.
