46 Estuary Drive, Mangawhai Heads

Sue has always been involved in art in various forms. She became interested in pottery when living in Western Australia, the forms, the various firings and the excitement of opening the kiln. Sue completed a three year Art and Craft certificate at Kalgoorlie College, majoring in pottery and minoring in life drawing. This led onto commencing a degree in pottery in Edith Cowan University W.A. However after one year Sue had to leave the degree as she started a family and pottery was put to one side.
On return to New Zealand Sue found mosaic – a centuries old art form that can take many forms and the creative possibilities are endless. Sue started running workshops in the 1990s, and has taught adults, children and done team building mosaic workshops… getting people started on their own mosaic journey.

Now living in Mangawhai Heads , Sue has returned to Pottery utilising wheel and hand building techniques and is enjoying connecting with other potters and exploring low firing techniques. Sue also does mosaic workshops on request.
