Who can enter?
The Kaipara Art Awards are open to artists who are current financial members of a recognised art group in the Kaipara Region. You do not need to live in Kaipara to enter.

One Entry per Category
Artists may submit one entry in each category: 2D Painting, 2D Other and 3D.
Entry fees are non-refundable, unless your entry is not accepted, in which case the entry fee will be refunded.

New Work
Your artwork must have been created since the last Kaipara Art Awards in October 2024 and
must not have previously been exhibited in a public exhibition.

2D Painting
Maximum size: 1000 × 1000mm including frame
Must be ready to hang with
D-rings

No saw tooth hangers
2D Other
Drawing, collage, fabric art, printmaking, photography and other 2D media
Maximum size: 1000 × 1000mm including frame

Must be ready to hang with
D-rings
​
No saw tooth hangers
3D
Sculpture and all other 3D media
Maximum size: 1000 × 1000 × 1000mm
Maximum weight: 20kg

Must be able to be moved easily by one person.
Emerging Artist Award
Artists entering any of the three categories may also choose to be considered for the Emerging Artist Award. A statement of no more than 300 words explaining why you should be considered as an emerging artist is required.
