MAI Members – Exhibit with Us This Season!

We’d love for you to take part in one (or more!) of our members’ exhibitions this season. It’s a great opportunity to share your work and be part of the vibrant Mangawhai art community.

To enter:

Simply complete the exhibition entry form (sent via email) by doing so, you're confirming that you've read and agree to the exhibition guidelines/criteria, including being available for at least one gallery duty during the show.

Please Note:

Only artworks that meet the size requirements and are ready to hang can be accepted. Thanks for your understanding.

Guidelines/Criteria:

Eligibility of artist

Paid up Mangawhai Artist member for the current season
Artwork must be original and not previously exhibited at the MAI Gallery
Available to do gallery duty for at least one shift during the exhibition
- Shifts are:
  - 9:00am to 10:30 Saturdays only
  - 10:30am to 1:00pm daily
  - 1:00pm to 3:30pm daily
  - Closing day 10:30 to noon

Sizing of Artworks:

2D works: Max width 650mm (25"), including frame. No height restriction.
- Christmas exhibition only!
  - Width and Hight 510mm x 510mm (20"x20") including frame, doesn't need to be square
3D works (not wall hung): Max footprint 510mm x 510mm (20"x20").
- Christmas exhibition only!
  - if not hung max footprint 510mmx510mm (20"x20").

Number of artwork

Each artist is eligible to submit up to two artworks, however at least one artwork will be displayed at the discretion of the curators.
Artworks not selected by the curators must be picked up from the gallery on opening night.

  - Max of 5 pieces
  - Set your own price
  - Cash and carry

Wall hung artworks

We ask artist to ensure their wall hanging artworks are ready to hang, our preference is picture wire system (D rings and wire or cord for the weigh of you work) other method can be used e.g. wire hangers, sawtooth hangers.

Labelling of Artwork

Your artworks must be clearly labelled on reverse or on the bottom with:

• Your name

• Title of the work

• Medium used

• Price (or NFS if not for sale)

Artwork Drop-off

You artwork is to be dropped off on the Thursday before opening night between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM
Please ensure your work is ready to hang and arrive on time, as curation will begin immediately after. It’s a big job for our curators, and having all work in by 5:00 PM sharp helps things run smoothly. Thank you for your understanding!

Exhibition Labels in the Gallery

Wall and plinth labels will be prepared from the information provided on your entry form and will be available for the hang team on Friday morning.

Opening Night Beverage Contribution

If possible, please bring a bottle of wine, juice, or something similar to share at the opening on Friday. Ideally if this could be dropped off at the same time as you drop of your artworks

Exhibition Opening

Opening night is on a Friday evening from 6:00 PM

It’s always a great opportunity to meet and catch up with other artists! Feel free to bring your friends and family
