About the Course

In this class we will let the stunning coast around Mangawhai inspire us to explore the amazing and varied ways that watercolour can transform our coastal vistas into works of loose, fluid beauty. Depending on your skill level, you will learn about using basic and advanced techniques of this medium, as well as gaining some tricks and tips to advance your skills.

You will learn how to use watercolour with a semi-abstract, loose approach. On completion you will have made at least 2 paintings and have the confidence to keep you going with this medium.

What's Included

If you are an absolute beginner, I will provide materials for your use.

What to Bring

Please bring your own watercolour materials (watercolour paper, brushes, paints). I have also prepared an information sheet with the whys and wherefores of the materials for this medium if you wish to prepare for this class. This will be emailed to you. Additionally, you will need to bring your own sturdy board about A3 size or bigger, an old towel to cover your work area, kitchen towels or cloth, water container, a mixing plate/palette, 2B or HB pencil and eraser, an old toothbrush, a bit of bubble wrap, some cling film, an old credit/swipe card.
